How to contribute time
Would you like to help me out? If you read Bangla fluently and are reasonably comfortable with the Internet, here’s what you can do:
- Pick a poem from the Bangla Gitanjali.
- Record yourself (just audio, or video as well if you like) reading the poem out. Use a comfortable pace, not too fast, not too slow. Speak clearly.
- Optional: If you feel comfortable doing so, talk a little about the poem: what do the words mean? You can do this in simple, contemporary Bangla, or in English. It’s okay if your English isn’t very good; it’s more important that your Bangla be good.
- Upload the video (or audio) onto youtube.com or soundcloud.com.
- Send me the link: leave it in a comment on this page. Please include an email address so that I can write back.
How to contribute money
Right now, my only expense on this project is the website, which costs about $150/year to maintain. You can send money to my Paypal account to help defray that cost, or to buy me a drink and communicate your approval of this project. : )
Thoughts? Let me know.
